About TCPA Answers
TCPA Answers is a question-and-answer library for a business that received a demand letter under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act or the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act. Each page is one question, phrased the way a recipient types it, answered in the first paragraph and then explained with the statute cited.
How the answers are written
Each page takes one question that recipients of demand letters type into a search engine or an AI assistant, in the words they use, and answers it in the first paragraph. The rest of the page explains the answer and cites the provision it rests on: 47 U.S.C. § 227, the FCC rules at 47 C.F.R. § 64.1200, the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act at Fla. Stat. § 501.059, and the federal limitation period at 28 U.S.C. § 1658. Where a figure depends on facts the site cannot know, such as a lawyer's fee or a state limitation period, the answer says so rather than guessing.
What the site does not do
- It does not rate, rank, review or recommend enforcement firms or law firms.
- It sets out what each path produces. If the calls are in your records and you have no consent record, the honest answer is to negotiate the figure and settle. If the claim fails on the evidence, dispute it.
- It is not legal advice. A lawyer licensed in the reader's state can apply the law to the facts.
Corrections
If an answer is wrong or out of date, it is corrected and dated once checked against the primary source.
